Mum knows best...

This Mother's Day treat your Mum (or let your daughter or son treat you) to a visit to Monk's House,
the Sussex country retreat of the Bloomsbury writer Virginia Woolf...

...she was a knitter too, as this intimate portrait by her sister, the artist Vanessa Bell shows.

I am also loving these cute 'Sewing Tin' biscuits by Biscuiteers,
the perfect tea time treat and something a bit different than flowers to send your craft-loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter or friend this Mother's Day!

  1. I love the biscuits. I think that there were lots of knitters around in 1920 & 30s, I was impressed by the hand knits worn by the actors in the recent TV series South Riding

  2. Me too!!! A friend did the knits for the series, cool arent they! i just love
the old vintage knits! Often though in 2, 3 or 4 ply quite fine!! But look beautiful because they are so fine!!
My personal favourites are the old 1950s Mary Maxim patterns!

  3. hi erika can you get bella to follow my
    love yellow car punchxx
